Our Story
Empowering Voices, Building Power: Uniting Social Justice and Electoral Politics
The Political Social Worker is dedicated to educating and amplifying the voices of marginalized and underrepresented communities. Serving as an extension of TPSW, Good Hands Political Consulting collaborates with community workers to build political power in those same communities.
Combined, The Political Social Worker + Good Hands Political Consulting meet at the intersection of social justice and electoral politics. Under the leadership of Shaterica Neal, each organization works together to increase civic engagement and generate transformative change.

Shaterica Neal
It’s difficult for Black folks (and other oppressed + marginalized communities) to both fully navigate and participate in the electoral process. Which translates into a lack of political power – the power to produce + elect candidates who look like us, with similar lived experiences, shared values, and the power to protect + enact public policy priorities that benefit us.
But don’t be dismayed by our current political climate. If we take a look back in history, we’ll see that our Ancestors faced these same challenges – straight up in your face racism, structural racism, and other hateful forms of exclusion and suppression. New day, same hateful ass tactics.
In spite of, our Ancestors overcame.
So here’s to picking up the baton and intentionally committing myself to be used to help Black folks (and other oppressed + marginalized communities) build political power.
